Why use a healthy low calorie diet for women? Your weight is based on three things. Once you understand these factors or equations you will be able to better develop your menus.
Here are the three factors that affect your weight:
Calories In Are Equal to Calories needed
When the calories you take in each day are equal to the calories that your body burns up each day, your weight will stay the same.
Most women, depending upon their age and activity level, consume from 1,600 to approximately 2,200 calories daily. When they consume this amount of calories daily, they are able to maintain their body weight because this is about the amount of calories that are used up.
Calories In Are More Than Calories needed
If a woman consumes more calories than she needs over an extended period of time, her weight will begin to increase. This is because her body will store these excess calories as fat.
It has been estimated that over 60% of Americans are currently overweight or obese. For this reason, eating a healthy low calorie diet for women is a good way to lose weight.
This is also the reason why it is important to keep an eye on how many calories are you eating per day if you are gaining weight. You may want to use a log book for a few weeks to keep track of how many calories you are consuming.
Calories In Are Less Than Calories needed
For those women who eat fewer calories than needed, she will begin losing weight. Did you know that a pound of fat is the equivalent to approximately 3,500 calories?
With that in mind, if you reduce your calories in by this much you will lose one pound of weight.
For example, if a woman who needs 2,200 calories daily to maintain her weight begins to consume 1,950 calories, or 250 calories less daily, she would lose one pound by the end of a two week period (250 calories X 14 days = 3,500 calories).
